Margaret West
Founding Director
In April 2023 it was with a heavy heart that we said a very fond farewell and wished our Co-founder Margaret West (nee Winter) a very happy retirement after 32 successful years. During her time at EHSC, Margaret was the hub of the business and ran the commercial aspect of the business single-handed for many years.
Margaret was a Former Founding Director and co-founder of EHSC Ltd and had almost 30 years’ experience in health and safety. Margaret specialised in writing policies, procedures, the auditing of such documents and writing bespoke training programmes. Her extensive experience in a variety of sectors, would often provide fantastic solutions to our Clients issues or problems. She was excellent at developing and designing simple but effective systems and worked closely with the team to ensure our Clients’ expectations were always met.
Margaret always had a keen interest for DIY and she is enjoying her retirement relaxing in her small but labour-intensive garden, which, with her pond, is a constant challenge.

Paul Winter MBE
Former Managing Director
Paul was the Managing Director of EHSC Ltd and a Founder of the Company, together with Margaret West. He formed the business, with Margaret, in September 1991 and worked in the business until January 2020, when he suddenly died. His passion for health and safety always shone through and he was an extremely dedicated and knowledgeable health and safety professional.
Paul was very well known for taking the dry subject of health and safety and bringing it to life. Paul lit up a room and will always been remembered for his superb sense of humour and unique style of delivery. We tried for many years to encourage Paul to write a book, but sadly he didn’t make it to retirement to do this. We were always proud to boast that Paul was awarded his MBE for services to occupational health and safety in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List in December 1993.
He was delighted that Beckie was to become Managing Director; unfortunately, it happened just a little earlier than he and Margaret had planned.
