Sun Realm Heating Company Ltd contacted European Health & Safety Consultants Ltd (EHSC) in 2006 following an incident, to review their existing Health & Safety Systems and Procedures and to provide a third party review of the incident and subsequent corrective action effectiveness.
The Company needed to delegate some of these HS&E management responsibilities and ownership to other staff members to ensure that systems, procedures and day to day HS&E management remained effective.
Therefore, in consultation with key staff members from all levels of the business, key HS&E roles and responsibilities were defined for all levels of staff within the Company, and Policies and Procedures reviewed and revised as necessary. EHSC then provided HS&E training and support to these key staff relevant to their new H&S responsibilities and assisted in the roll-out of the revised systems and procedures.
Over time is has been proven that this delegation of health and safety responsibilities has improved the day-to-day management of HS&E within the Company. This has been reflected in improved internal and external audit scores and the awarding of RoSPA Safety Awards in Bronze, Silver and Gold categories.
