All employers are required by law to comply with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations. The main duties placed on employers under these Regulations are to –
- Avoid manual handling operations that involve a risk of injury, so far as is reasonably practicable
- Assess unavoidable operations
- Reduce the risk of injury as far as is reasonably practicable
- Reassess if circumstances change or original assessment is suspected to be inaccurate/insufficient
