The HSE has just released some new/updated guidance on using cut-off saws, exposure to silica dust and health surveillance.
The HSE have released 3 guidance documents which may be of interest –
Using cut-off saws: A guide to protecting your lungs – Aimed at worked in highway paving construction or maintenance work. It details how respirable crystalline silica exposure can affect health and how to control the risks.
Control of exposure to silica dust: A guide for Employees – Explains what Employers and Employees should be doing to prevent lunch disease caused by exposure to silica (natural substance, foundin rocks, sand and clay etc) at work.
Health Surveillance Guidance for Employers – This micro-site provides guidance if there is a risk of workers exposure to chemicals or other hazardous substance likely to harm their health.
