FFI has been in place since 1 October 2012 and there has been a lot of speculation etc in the press – so what’s happening? We have been following published articles closely. Without appearing too skeptical, you can read into statistics as much as you would like – here are some for you to consider –
• The HSE has issued receipts totalling just over £700,000 in the first 2 months (Oct/Nov 2012) of the FFI scheme
• The HSE recorded FFI time at 903 premises (during the same period)
• One-third of the premises visited were within the construction sector.
FFI should not be the threat that motivates you to manage H&S….you should be doing it for the right reasons! (Source – Judith Hackett)
